Cassie Young is Vice President of Real Estate Accounting for Regency Centers.
Cassie provides oversight and accountability for activities performed in the Real Estate Accounting team relating to property accounting, capitals and national collections. She conducts a monthly review of the portfolio to ensure accounting is in accordance with GAAP, maintains our internal control framework, ensures the accuracy of our financial reporting, and manages process consistency and standardization across all properties.
She is also responsible for coaching, developing, and mentoring a large Real Estate Accounting team, helping build a pipeline of future leaders by enhancing team dynamics and employee engagement.
Cassie began her Regency career as a Senior Manager—Property Controller, managing the day-to-day and period-end accounting, accounts receivable reporting, and reserves, ensuring coordination between all involved parties. She was then promoted to Director of Property Accounting and VP of Property Accounting before taking on her current role.
She began her career working for the YMCA before moving on to Fidelity National Financial, where she was involved in many aspects of accounting, including her work for a non-profit called Folded Flag Foundation.
Cassie is proud to call Jacksonville her home, spending most of her life in the area and receiving a Bachelor's and Master's in Accounting from the University of North Florida. She serves on the advisory board for the Winston YMCA, giving back her time, talent, and treasure to help impact the Jacksonville community for the better. She is a member of ULI, having previously served on the Young Leaders committee and participating in Urban Plan. She is a faithful supporter of Habijax, participating in builds each year.
At home, Cassie and her husband, Brian, a US Navy pilot, stay busy with two young boys and a daughter on the way. The family enjoys the outdoors, bike rides, pools, or grilling on the Big Green Egg.
